Alan Fraser first visited Mexico City as a bearded, backpacking hippie in 1979. His first visit as a Piano & Vocal Somaticist was in November 2023 - to coincide with a Paul McCartney concert!
In this 3-day residency he will work with pianists, singers and other instrumentalists interested in a somatic approach to music performance. The piano sessions will take place at a local music school; Friday's vocal somatics workshop at the Malacate Yoga Center.

INTRODUCTION TO PIANIMALS
2021 saw the publication of Pianimals , Fraser's new piano method based on the Feldenkrais Method. If you are a teacher who wants to introduce Pianimals into your studio, you are welcome to attend his lecture - date, place and time to be announced. The special focus will be using Pianimals to empower the technique of your young pupils. You are also welcome to bring select students for a session or two. The prices for this residency are adjusted to reflect the realities of Mexico City's economy - they are far below Fraser's usual fee (see other workshop registration tables). A further discount may be possible for those in dire need, but please remember, just to cover his travel costs, Fraser must teach 20 lessons before he earns anything at all. Mexico City pianist Alejandra Ramirez received her training at the National Conservatory in Mexico City, studying with Enrique Barcena and Alexander Pashkov and graduating in 2016. She teaches piano and music to young students at seeral prestigious Mexico City schools and also privately. Playing solo and art song repertoire, she has spent the last several years developing her technique using Alan Fraser's Pianimals Method both for her own technical development and in her teaching. She has studied with Alan for several years both online and in person, and is organizing Alan Fraser's piano teaching in Mexico City. CESAR CASTRO
Baritone Casar Castro completed his vocal studies with high honours at the National Conservatory of Mexico City. He has also studied voice with Carlos Aransay, Kenneth Bozeman and Janice Chapman. He teaches singing through a holistic approach online and in person to talented singers around the world. Cancellation Policy
If you must cancel your registration, reimbursement will be as follows: Cancellations more than two months before residency opening date: 100% reimbursement. Cancellations more than one month before residency opening date: 75% reimbursement. Cancellations more than two weeks before residency opening date: 50% reimbursement. Cancellations more than one week before residency opening date: 25% reimbursement. Cancellations less than one week before residency opening date: no reimbursement except in cases of doctor-certified illness or acts of God. We reserve the right to cancel the residency; in this event, all registration fees are fully refundable.
