Concord, February 6-7

CONCORD COMMUNITY MUSIC SCHOOL

The Concord IV Alan Fraser Piano Institute (June 2016) will be supplemented by a preliminary mid-winter 2-day event. NHMTA members are invited to an introductory seminar on applying Feldenkrais Method to instrumental, vocal and piano performance to be held February 6-7 2016. Alan Fraser will also be offering private piano and Feldenkrais lessons this weekend.

All sessions will take place at the Concord Community Music School (CCMS), one of the nation's most vibrant and thriving music communities.

The two fine Steinway pianos (both pre-war New York B's) in the CCMS concert hall assure the highest possible level of artistic work in these lessons. Excellent practice facilities with mostly Steinway midsize grand pianos will be available.

Come for a lesson this February to refresh your previous Institute experience or to get a taste of what awaits you at your first Institute this coming summer.

To register for the seminar or book a private session, please contact Kathryn Southworth Lundahl or call her at (603) 496-5266.

TRAVEL

GETTING THERE

Travelling directions to Concord Community Music School

View Map

The nearest airport is Manchester-Boston Regional Airport in Manchester, NH. There is a slightly pricey airport shuttle to Concord. The airport website also has a huge list of transportation services - we have not called them all to see which one is most economical!

There is also a convenient bus service from Boston's Logan Airport, which may be even more convenient than the shuttle from Manchester.

ACCOMMODATION

LODGING

CCMS does not offer student housing. There are a few hotels in Concord, but we suggest the inexpensive alternative of finding a place on www.airbnb.com. This website offers travellers a chance to connect with private hosts willing to let a room or entire apartment at very reasonable rates. The most spectacular of these is The Majority Leader's House, which at different times has hosted presidents of the United States and other luminaries. It is just around the corner from CCMS and the proprietor would be happy to accommodate several Institute participants. Please feel free to contact him through the airbnb website. Airbnb does not allow third party rentals but we are happy to refer our participants to this site. Book early to ensure getting the dates you want.
