KUNSTGEBOUW LEUSDEN

The Kunstgebouw Leusden is a half hour east of Amsterdam on the outskirts of Amersfoort. Alan Fraser's traditional May Day Netherlands weekend has been shifted to Whitsunday.

The Institute is OPEN TO ALL INTERESTED PIANISTS:

  • students who wish to improve their sound and agility
  • amateurs who wish to feel more in command of the instrument
  • teachers who want new ways of teaching technique to their students
  • professionals who wish to hone their skills to the highest possible level.
Kunstgebouw Leusden students and staff are welcome to audit the institute at no charge.

Individual lessons will analyse basic touch to evoke a breakthrough in overall technique and musicianship. Professor Fraser teaches in English or French; Dutch translation is available. There are plenty of piano practice rooms.

Prof. Fraser will teach extra individual lessons Friday evening to interested pianists.

SATURDAY AFTERNOON TEACHERS SESSION - Practical Applications of Feldenkrais: Learning By Experience & Sensation

There will be a special free afternoon session Saturday June 3rd for all teachers from the Leusden & Amersfoort Kunstgebouws

ALAN FRASER

Canadian pianist Alan Fraser gives master classes and recitals worldwide and conducts ongoing research and refinement on the ideas put forth in his three books, The Craft of Piano Playing (also in DVD), Honing the Pianistic Self-Image, and All Thumbs: Well-Coordinated Piano Technique. FRITS KROESE

Pianist and pedagogue Frits Kroese is a long-standing resident of Leusden. He teaches at Scholen in de Kunst in the Eemhuis Amersfoort, is actively involved in the Academy for Music for talented pupils, and gives recitals regularly. He first attended an Alan Fraser Piano Institute in 2015.

Cancellation Policy

If you must cancel your registration, reimbursement will be as follows:
Cancellations before April 1: 100% reimbursement.
Cancellations before April 10: 75% reimbursement.
Cancellations before April 24: 50% reimbursement.
Cancellations before May 7: 25% reimbursement.
Cancellations after May 7: no reimbursement unless except in cases of doctor-certified illness or acts of God.
We reserve the right to cancel the institute due to insufficient enrolment; in this eventuality all resgistration fees will be fully refunded.
