Alan Fraser conducts several residencies each year in Geneva, teaching privately at the Conservatoire Populaire de Musique à Genève. Generally there are no group Awareness Through Movement lessons or lectures. Fraser is fluent in both English and French, and uses the participant's native tongue wherever possible.

Fraser works with pianists to improve the ease and fluency with which they can orchestrate their sound, through subtle adjusments both to overall body posture and to hand posture that are recorded in the body's neuromotor representation. He also works with other instrumentalists and vocalists.

Open to All Interested Pianists & Musical Performers

Are you hesitant to take a lesson? Not well-enough prepared? Don't worry; Alan will teach you, no matter what the state of your program. Working on a new piece with Alan can help you avoid the technical errors we sometimes make during the learning process. Thus he really does work with all interested pianists, vocalists and instrumentalists:

• students who wish to improve their sound and agility
• adult amateurs who wish to feel more in command of the instrument
• teachers who want new ways of teaching technique to their students
• professionals who wish to hone their skills to the highest possible level.

There is no limit to improvement!

Instrumentalists & Vocalists Also Welcome

Alan's Feldenkrais-informed approach to performance helps instrumentalists and vocalists transform their sound by making minute postural adjustments that release hidden physical blocks. If you have a friend or colleague with a specific performance issue, why not invite them to take a lesson.

All lessons are video recorded (unless the participant requests otherwise), and are stored at

If you are not already an active member at PianoTechniqe.org, to watch your lessons you must first subscribe. We run our piano somatics video library more or less on the Netflix model: your initial subscription fee gives you automatic access to

Separate from the Institute registration fee

Access to all this, and to the recordings of the Ahun 2026 institute, is included in the initial pt.org subscription fee which is separate from your institute registration fee.

In Geneva Alan often teaches in private homes, but sometimes will use a studio at a satellite branch of the Conservatoire Populaire at Chemin des Crêts-de-Champel 40.

Cancellation Policy

If you must cancel your registration, reimbursement will be as follows:
Cancellations more than two months before residency opening date: 100% reimbursement.
Cancellations more than one month before residency opening date: 75% reimbursement.
Cancellations more than two weeks before residency opening date: 50% reimbursement.
Cancellations more than one week before residency opening date: 25% reimbursement.
Cancellations less than one week before residency opening date: no reimbursement.
We reserve the right to cancel the residency; in this event, all purchases are fully refundable.
