Alan Fraser conducts several Swiss residencies a year. He works with pianists to improve the ease and fluency with which they can orchestrate their sound, with violinists, improving their sound and dexterity, both in the bow arm and fingering arm, through subtle adjusments to posture that are recorded in the body's neuromotor representation, and with other instrumentalists and vocalists.
Fraser's residencies have no lectures or group Awareness Through Movement lessons, just private work at one's instrument, or pure Feldenkrais Functional Integration lessons. Fraser is fluent in English, French and Serbian, and uses the participant's native tongue wherever possible.
Are you hesitant to take a lesson? Not well-enough prepared? Don't worry; Alan will teach you, no matter what the state of your program. Working on a new piece with Alan can help you avoid the technical errors we sometimes make during the learning process. Thus he really does work with all interested pianists, vocalists and instrumentalists:
There is no limit to improvement!
Alan's Feldenkrais-informed approach to performance helps instrumentalists and vocalists transform their sound, making minute postural adjustments that release hidden physical blocks. If you have a friend or colleague with a specific performance issue, why not invite them to take a lesson.
The Basel lessons will be held in a studio near the Old Town, directions to be given at registration.
The Zurich lessons will be given either in the student's home or at the studio of Ekatarina von Kistowski, a pianist and piano teacher who is also completing a professional training in the Feldenkrais Method. Directions to Studio Von Kistowksi: Etzelstrasse 77 8808 Pfäffikon Zurich, Switzerland Basel Old Town
