Chopin & Co.

Chopin's music is inimitable although many composers have tried with great success. It seems to come from another world, yet at the same time is eminently human. Compositionally it is also supremely sophisticated, rich in counterpoints of rhythm and texture as well as melody. Chopin's complex polyrhythms also manifested in his playing style (he was said to have played some Mazurkas in quasi-2/4 time), and Fraser brings some of this uniquely Chopinesque rhythmic freedom to his performances.
